There was an event held by the government ( I won't say what it is) at Rizal Park. So after our work shift, off we go to Rizal Park. The place was so crowded with people from different walks of life but I think most of them are in the middle and lower class, just like me, in quest for a much better life. Hehehe. It was some sort of a chaos but I guess we have successfully done what we should have done there, at least.
It was around 04:00 to 04:30 pm when we decided to have a short side trip around Rizal Park since most of the booths in the event were already wrapping up. I didn't took so much pictures of the event since it is high confidential for me and my friends (I don't want my bosses to know)! Haha. Anyway, off we go strolling.
There was a a Jeep-like vehicle that is as big as a mini-bus going around the Lapu-Lapu Monument. We rode the said vehicle just for experience it. Its kinda expensive as the ride didn't even lasted for 5 minutes, as it is only going round and round, we paid Php 20.00 each.
We felt hungry and the place was still full of people so we decided to eat at Jolibee Ma. Orosa. After eating, since we don't want to go home yet, we decided to visit Intramuros since some of my friends seldom visit the place. We walked from Rizal Park going through Finance Rd. and ended up at the gate near Pamantasan Lungsod ng Maynila (PLM).
Memories flowed back in my mind, as it has been 5 years since the last time I've been in Intramuros. I graduated from PNU (Philippine Normal University) which is near place and it has been a part of my college years. I spent my summer class at LPU (Lyceum of the Philippines University) and everyday I've been walking the streets of Intramuros. That summer class was one of the best!
Going back, we went on strolling the streets of Intramuros. What we planned is to stroll a little but ended up staying longer. We were surprised that we actually enjoyed strolling around, it was memorable and fun!

This one really made our day! Hahaha.. |
After the long walk, we decided to take a stroll on what they call "The Little Great Wall". These walls are actually the sturdy walls surrounding Intramuros including Fort Santiago. For those who does not know, you can actually walk your way through the pathways above the wall thus seeing Intramuros and the buildings of Manila in a different perspective. We took some rest on a grassy part of the wall and of course took some pictures! :)
Another round of walking and we ended up taking our rest and most of our time at a spot near a golf course, in front of The Bayleaf Hotel, chitchatting and catching some photos. We ended our day like a school fieldtrip, fun yet full of acquired knowledge. :)

P. S. This day, June 12, 2012, is Philippine Independence Day. Various events are being held during this time and one them is the event being sponsored DOLE and POEA, which was the one held at Rizal Park. :)
Ciao!
